Important information regarding the work of the Development Services and Planning Departments, as well as the Stanley Landfill, may be found below.
Building Inspections will continue but with the following modifications:
  • A six foot person-to-person buffer will be maintained at all times.
  • No inspections will be permitted within currently or previously occupied structures.
  • The following inspections are currently being accepted for scheduling: foundation; framing and rough-ins; insulation; partial occupancy; as well as plumbing for new construction and sewage systems.
  • All enclosed structures must be vacated for the inspection to commence.  After the inspection is complete, an electronic report will be sent immediately.

All ‘in person’ planning meetings will be cancelled until further notice. Meetings may be held via teleconference or Skype if available.

In a continued effort to protect our staff and our communities regarding COVID-19, Senior Management has made the decision to close the Stanley Landfill located at 38594 Mill Road in Varna to the public upon recommendations from the Government of Ontario and Public Health.  Commercial
accounts will continue to have access to the landfill as their account status ensures no payment is required, allowing our landfill operator to maintain safe social distancing.  The Landfill is scheduled to re-open on Monday, April 13.

We ask you to please do what you can to dispose of solid waste through curbside collection.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to limit exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
