Landfill Operations
STANLEY LANDFILL - 38594 MILL ROAD
Please ensure that you have a valid landfill pass before attending and refer to the new operating procedures that will be in effect until further notice. Contact the municipal office at 519-236-4351 for more information on how to obtain a landfill pass.
New - Landfill Operating Procedures
Regular Hours:
1st and 3rd Monday of every month - 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
2nd and 4th Saturday of every month - 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
DURING THE MONTHS OF JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST THE LANDFILL IS OPEN EVERY SATURDAY FROM 9:00 AM TO 3:00 PM

Use of Landfills (Prohibited Items)
The Municipality of Bluewater would like to remind the public that the Stanley Landfill is to be used only by Bluewater residents and for wastes generated in Bluewater. We remind residents that you
must
show proof of residency when accessing the landfill.
If you are a resident, we ask that you stop by the Municipal office to pick up a blue landfill card.
Tenants requesting the use of the Stanley Landfill must first receive permission from the Property Owner of the property where they are a Tenant in order to obtain a Landfill Pass. Requests for permission should be submitted to the Manager of Public Works or his designate in a manner deemed appropriate by the Manager. We remind you that the following items are prohibited at the Stanley Landfill:
- Stumps, crop residue, concrete, propane tanks, tires, liquid waste, & hazardous waste
-Fridges, freezers & air conditioner not tagged freon free
- Recyclables shall be placed in proper receptacles
Thank you for your consideration in ensuring the longevity of our landfill.
NOTE: Yard waste can also be dropped off at the Green Waste Facility in Hensall (west end of Richmond St SW) anytime free of charge.
MID HURON LANDFILL - 37506A HURON ROAD (HIGHWAY 8)
The Stanley Landfill is unable to accept hazardous waste. However, Municipality of Bluewater ratepayers can dispose of hazardous waste
free of charge
at the Huron County Hazardous Waste Depot located at the Mid Huron Landfill. Please note, the Depot is unable to accept PCB's, commercial, infectious or radioactive wastes.
