ABCA issues flood outlook notice

Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority has issued a watershed conditions statement. This message will remain in effect until Monday, July 15, 2024, unless local conditions warrant updates. 

Heavy precipitation is expected from Tuesday through Thursday with the remnants of Hurricane Beryl. Forecasts of 50-60 mm of rain are possible, with the potential for localized amounts of 100 mm. Major flooding is not expected but minor flooding is possible, especially in low-lying flood plains.

Caution is urged around stream and lake banks. Keep children and pets away from these areas.

ABCA will be monitoring conditions over the next few days.
