Council Highlights—April 20

At its Regular Meeting of Council on April 20, 2026, Council of the Municipality of Bluewater:

  • Granted exemptions from the Noise and the Hawkers, Peddlers and Buskers By-laws to REMAX Reliable Realty for playing music outside from 7:00 pm to 11:45 pm and the operating of one food truck from 7:00 pm to 12:00 pm (midnight), on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Bayfield Town Hall, 11 The Square, on the condition that the portable stage be pointed away from residential properties.
  • Adopted the 2026 tax rates.
  • Adopted a Water and Wastewater Allocation Policy.
  • Awarded the Stanley Landfill Final Cover tender, Project No. 2402425 to McCann Redi-Mix in the amount of $351,071.60 excluding HST. Council also authorized a construction contingency of 15% of the approved tender amount for the project and delegated authority to the Manager of Public Works to approve expenditures from this contingency to address unforeseen project conditions and risks to the upset of the established contingency.
  • Directed staff to issue an Expression of Interest (EOI) to identify community groups interested in coordinating a program similar to the Green Legacy Tree Program, in accordance with the Municipality’s Protection and Enhancement of Trees Policy.
  • Approved the Organizational Structure Review and Recruitment Services Program Charter dated April 16, 2026 developed by KPMG.
