Council Highlights - July 8

At its Regular Meeting of Council on July 8, 2024, Council of the Municipality of Bluewater:

  • Accepted the draft Bayfield Heritage Conservation District Plan and Guidelines presentation from GSP Group and E.R.A. Architects Inc. as information. The comments received from the public on the draft Plan will be brought to the August 12th Council meeting for Council's consideration.
  • Authorized the Bayfield Lions Club to install Remembrance Day banners, supplied by the Bayfield Lions Club, on the light standards on Bayfield Main Street North.
  • Approved the Terms of Reference for the Municipal Lease Agreement Working Group.
  • Awarded tender BW-RDS-04-2024 for the supply and delivery of one new open bottom multiplate arch culvert with precast footings to Atlantic Industries Limited (AIL) in the amount of $197,469.71 excluding HST.
  • Granted the request from the Zurich Bean Festival Committee to install an electrical panel/pedestal on the Victoria Lane Road Allowance. All incurred costs for the installation of the pedestal is the responsibility of the Zurich Bean Festival Committee.
  • Authorized the closure of the Stanley landfill on the Civic Holiday and Labour Day Monday being August 5, 2024 and September 2, 2024.
  • Adopted the Community Grant and Vibrancy Funds Policy.
  • Amended the Fees and Charges by-law to adopt the 2024 planning fees.
  • Entered into an Encroachment Agreement for 14 The Square.
  • Scheduled a 2025 budget meeting on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 9:00am, and cancelled the budget meetings scheduled on November 27, 2024 and December 18, 2024.
  • Granted Stratford Inclusive Markets (Royal de Jong) temporary permission to operate two one-day craft markets with craft vendors, food trucks and musicians, between the hours of 12:00pm and 6:00pm on August 31st, 2024, and October 5th, 2024 at Clan Gregor Square.
  • Accepted the request for drainage works on Bronson Line north of the intersection of Staffa Road under Section 4 of the Drainage Act, R.S.O. 1990 and appointed Headway Engineering to investigate and prepare a report.
  • Accepted the request for drainage works on Wildwood Line north of the intersection of David Street East under Section 4 of the Drainage Act, R.S.O. 1990 and appointed Streamline Engineering to investigate and prepare a report.
  • Accept the request for drainage works on Babylon Line north of the intersection of Pepper Road under Section 4 of the Drainage Act, R.S.O. 1990; and appointed M. Gerrits Consulting Inc. to investigate and prepare a report.
