Council Highlights—May 19

At its Regular Meeting of Council on May 19, 2026, Council of the Municipality of Bluewater:

  • Directed the Manager of Public Works and the Manager of Facilities, Parks and Recreation to work with the Bayfield Agricultural Society on the installation of fencing across the unopened road allowance by Christy Street.
  • Entered into an agreement with Bayfield Centre for the Arts for public art to be installed in Clan Gregor Square.
  • Approved the change order to the existing Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) operations agreement for additional operational services associated with the upgraded Bayfield Wastewater Treatment Plant for the period of June 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.
  •  Awarded tender BW-RDS-07-2026 for the supply and delivery of one new open bottom multiplate arch culvert with precast footings to ARMTEC in the amount of $222,930.16 excluding HST.
  •  Awarded tender BW-RDS-04-2026 being a tender to supply and deliver one new single axle cab and chassis with aluminum dump body to Premier Truck Group in the amount of $162,351 excluding HST.
  • Awarded the Request for Proposal for the Operation of the Bayfield (Bluewater) Marina to Jim Peever and directed staff to proceed with negotiating a Marina Operating Agreement with Jim Peever for the new operating term beginning January 1, 2027.
  •  Entered into a lease extension agreement with Canada Post for the lease of the Canada Post Office located at 18 Bayfield Main Street North, Bayfield for a term beginning June 1, 2027.
  • Passed a by-law regulating the use and installation of election signs and campaign material.
