Beaches

Kick off your shoes and enjoy the west coast of Lake Huron. Our beaches are a great spot to take in nature, watch stunning sunsets and relax.  

Stair access may be closed depending on weather, water levels, and erosion. If you would like to check whether an access is open before your visit, please contact the administrative assistant for the Facilities department.

Bayfield Pier Beach

The most popular beach location in Bayfield is equipped with a life saving station, drive up access, parking and public washrooms. The beach is owned by the Pioneer Park Association.
 
Located next to the Bluewater Marina, you can enjoy a stroll on the pier, a fresh water swim or just take in the sunshine on the large sandy beach. Located a short walk from the historic Village of Bayfield's restaurants and boutiques, this beach is a great option for those looking to enjoy a day on the shores of Lake Huron! 

Houston Heights Beach

Located at the end of Pavilion Road, just south of Bayfield, Houston Heights Beach offers parking, a large picnic pavilion, washrooms, play equipment and a walking trail. There is no stairway beach access, but a pathway winds down to the sandy shores.

This location is great for families looking to escape the crowds. 

Howard Street Beach

This sandy beach is located just south of Bayfield Pier Beach at the end of Howard Street West, Bayfield. There is plenty of parking at this location.

Hay Township Beach

At the end of Sararas Road, on a bluff overlooking Lake Huron, you'll find stairway beach access and a lookout offering awesome lake views! Roadside parking is available at the end of the municipal roadway.
